Travelling from Maceio, along the north-east littoral of Brazil, as far as Belem, before flying to Brasilia and then finally visiting Minas Gerais. Much time still spent in cities, but Fernando de Noronha was a highlight.

Non-birds
On Noronha: green turtle, dolphins (Stenella longirostris), moco (introduced rodent, Keredon rupestris), teju and Mabuya maculata (both lizards). Also an introduced species of very large frog. Common marmosets seen in Joao Pessoa.
